EGYPT, Alexandria. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Potin Tetradrachm (22.5mm, 11.32 g, 12h). Dated RY 3 (AD 239/240). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Hermanubis standing facing, head right, holding palm frond and caduceus; at his feet to left, jackal standing left, head right; L Γ (date) across field. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 4730; K&G 72.59; Emmett 3410.3 (R5). VF, dark brown patina with traces of red, some minor porosity. Extremely rare type for Gordian III.
